Mikayla Pauga
Mikayla Pauga (born 10 April 2003) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Greater Western Sydney in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for Brisbane Lions, winning a premiership in 2023.
Pauga grew up in the northern Brisbane suburbs of Morayfield and Caboolture. She started as a netballer and then switched to football through school programs. She played junior football with Narangba JAFC and senior football with Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. She moved to the Gold Coast to play for Bond University in the QAFLW and earned the Riewoldt Family AFL Excellence Scholarship as part of the Brisbane Lions Academy.
Drafted by Brisbane with pick 46 in the 2021 AFLW draft, Pauga made her AFLW debut on 24 September 2022 against Richmond at Punt Road Oval. She was part of Brisbane’s 2023 premiership team and was traded to Greater Western Sydney for the 2024 season. Pauga is 161 cm tall and plays as a half-forward. By the end of 2023 she had played 15 AFLW games.
