Jailen Peguero
Jailen Lorenzo Peguero is a Dominican professional baseball relief pitcher. He was born on January 4, 1981, in the Azua Province of the Dominican Republic. He bats and throws right-handed and played in Major League Baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He made his MLB debut on June 8, 2007, and his last major league game was on September 25, 2008. In MLB, he posted a 1-0 win-loss record with a 7.50 ERA and 14 strikeouts.
Peguero began his pro career in 2000 after signing with the Houston Astros as an international free agent. He worked his way through the minor leagues and joined the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in 2006, reaching the majors in 2007. After 2008, he spent time in the minors and later played in the Mexican League and various independent leagues. He played for teams such as the Winnipeg Goldeyes and the San Rafael Pacifics, where he earned Reliever of the Year honors in 2019. He also played for the Gastonia Honey Hunters in 2021 and became a free agent after that season.
