The Magic Bullet is a small, personal blender made by Homeland Housewares, a part of Alchemy Worldwide. It’s sold in more than 50 countries and is widely advertised on TV and in “As seen on TV” stores. A lighter, non-banner version called the Magic Bullet Single Shot+ is also available, along with many other models such as the Magic Bullet To Go, Mini, Bullet Express, Baby Bullet, NutriBullet, Party Bullet, and Dessert Bullet.

What it is and how it works
The Magic Bullet is designed to replace several kitchen appliances like a blender, food processor, and juicer in a single, compact unit. It uses a blade attached inside a cup that screws onto a motor base. Pressing the top starts the blade, and locking the cup to the base keeps blending until you disengage it. The blending cups are dishwasher safe and easy to hand-wash because of their simple cylindrical shape.

Infomercials and popularity
The product is famous for its long 30-minute infomercial, often aired in the early morning. The original ad features two hosts, Mick and Mimi, in a kitchen with guests who try different quick recipes—smoothies, omelets, dips—showing claims of tasks done “in 10 seconds or less.”

Company history and developments
Alchemy Worldwide LLC, co-founded by Lenny Sands, Brady Caverly, and Jeff Clifford, developed and marketed the Magic Bullet. The product helped the company achieve substantial sales, with the line contributing hundreds of millions in revenue during its early years. The Magic Bullet design was registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by Lenny Sands.

Updates and connected apps
In 2015, an app was introduced with breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipe ideas for Magic Bullet users. In 2017, the Bluetooth-enabled NutriBullet Balance was released, allowing a companion app to track calories from ingredients processed by the blender.

Counterfeits and safety notes
Homeland Housewares participates in efforts to combat counterfeit products and helps educate consumers about copies. There have been reports related to the NutriBullet line (a related product) involving explosions and injuries, prompting lawsuits. The company has denied responsibility for those injuries.

How it’s used
To blend, you attach a blade to the cup, screw the cup onto the base, and, by pressing on the top, start blending. When the cup is locked into the base, blending continues until you disengage it. The Magic Bullet is designed for quick, small-batch blending and easy cleanup.
