Madison Museum of Fine Art (MMoFA) is an art museum and sculpture garden in Madison, Georgia. Opened in 2005 by Michele L. Bechtell, it sits on the town square at 300 Hancock Street. The museum has indoor galleries, an outdoor sculpture garden, a film corner, and a shop. It features works by American and European artists— Picasso, Dalí, Whistler, Chagall, Calder, and more—plus hand-carved Shona sculptures from Zimbabwe. MMoFA hosts lectures, films, and temporary exhibitions, along with special events. It emphasizes K-12 visual art history, including a student-curated exhibition from the collection and festivals on art, math, science, and poetry. The museum is a Blue Star Museum offering free admission to military families and participates in Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day and Slow Art Day.
