The Madison Belmont Building, also known as 183 Madison Avenue, is a commercial building at the southeast corner of Madison Avenue and 34th Street in Murray Hill, Manhattan, New York.

It was designed by Warren & Wetmore in a neoclassical style with some early Art Deco influence, and built in 1924–1925. It stands 228 feet tall and has 18 floors, with about 233,484 square feet of space.

The building has a column-like design with three horizontal parts: a base, a shaft, and a capital. The base is three stories tall and features large display windows and doors designed by Edgar Brandt. The upper floors use brick piers, decorative terracotta, and a large cornice.

The main entrance on 34th Street uses Art Deco doors with leaf and floral patterns. The lobby is bronze and marble with a vaulted ceiling and rich decorations inspired by ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

The building was built as a showroom for the Merchants & Manufacturers Exchange of New York and originally housed silk showrooms for Cheney Brothers in Manhattan’s Silk District. It opened on October 15, 1925.

Over the years the property changed hands. A large mortgage was placed on the building in 1930, and in 1953 an extra floor was added on the roof for mechanical equipment and space.

In 2011, the exterior and the first-floor lobby interior were designated New York City landmarks.

In 2014, a joint venture bought the building for about $185 million; by 2018 it was sold for about $222.5 million. Since then, tenants have included a law firm, an audio company, an architectural firm, an advertising firm, and coworking spaces such as WeWork.

The building’s official address is 181–183 Madison Avenue, with alternate addresses 31 East 33rd Street and 44–46 East 34th Street. It is near the Old Grolier Club, 2 Park Avenue, the Collectors Club of New York, and the B. Altman Building.
