Mason McCormick is an American football guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL. Born May 25, 2000, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 315 pounds. He went to Roosevelt High School, where he played football and ran track, earning first-team all-state honors as a senior.

He played college football for South Dakota State from 2018 to 2023. A zero-star recruit, he appeared in a few games as a true freshman, redshirted, and gradually became a key blocker. In the spring 2021 season, he started all 10 games and helped SDSU reach the national championship, earning All-America and all-conference honors. In fall 2021 he started 15 games at left guard and earned second-team All-MVFC. In 2022 he started every game, was first-team All-MVFC and a consensus All-American as SDSU won its first national title. He repeated as national champions in 2023, starting all 15 games and earning first-team All-MVFC and first-team All-American. He started 57 straight college games, and he was invited to the East–West Shrine Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine.

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted McCormick in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2024 NFL draft. He debuted in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons and earned his first start in Week 4 versus the Indianapolis Colts after teammates were injured. In 2024 he played in all 17 games with 14 starts, posting a 57.7 PFF grade (87th among 136 guards), with a pass-blocking grade of 63.2, a run-block grade of 53.7, and 936 offensive snaps (42nd). The Steelers lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card round on January 11, 2025.

In 2025 McCormick started all 17 games, beginning the year with 58 offensive snaps in Week 1 against the New York Jets and earning a 63.6 PFF grade, placing him among the team’s top players that week. In May 2025 he became engaged to Addison Hirschman, who played basketball at SDSU.
