Maceratino
Maceratino is a white Italian grape variety grown mainly in the Marche region along Italy’s Adriatic coast. It is a Vitis vinifera grape (VIVC number 7023). Some experts think it may be related to Greco and Verdicchio because many synonyms overlap, but no definite link has been proven. Plantings declined for much of the 20th century and are now rare. In the Colli Maceratesi white wine DOC, wines must contain at least 80% Maceratino. The grape has many synonyms, including Aribona, Bianchetta, Greco (and related names), Maceratese, Ribona, Uva Stretta and various Verdicchio names.
