Luke Travers
Luke Travers is an Australian professional basketball player from Perth. Born on September 3, 2001, he is 6 feet 6 inches tall and plays the small forward position.
He began his career in Western Australia with the Rockingham Flames in the State Basketball League (SBL) from 2017 to 2019, where he earned the SBL Most Improved Player award in 2019. In 2019 he joined the Perth Wildcats as a development player in the National Basketball League (NBL) and made his debut in December 2019. Travers was part of the Wildcats’ championship team in 2020 and also contributed during the 2021 season.
In 2022 he declared for the NBA draft and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 56th overall pick. He played for the Cavaliers in the NBA and spent time with their G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge, on a two-way contract. After a stint with Melbourne United in 2023, Travers returned to the Cavaliers and joined them on a two-way deal in 2024.
Travers made his NBA debut on November 1, 2024, against the Orlando Magic. He has also had notable moments in the G League, including multiple triple-doubles with the Charge.
Internationally, Travers has represented Australia. He played at the Under-16 Asian Championship in 2017, where Australia won gold, and appeared at the Under-17 World Cup in the same year. He made his Boomers debut in 2022.
Personal life: Travers was born in Perth to Karl and Sam Travers and has a brother and a sister. He attended Port Kennedy Primary School and Willetton Senior High School. He was friends with AFL player Luke Jackson growing up.
