Department of Defense Activity Address Code

DoDAAC, short for Department of Defense Activity Address Code, is a six-character code that uniquely identifies a DoD unit, activity, or organization that can requisition, contract for, receive, store, issue, or ship DoD assets, or pay for materials and services. The first characters show the owning service or agency. These codes are used in DoD financial, contracting, and auditing records, and across the federal government when ordering supplies with MILSTRIP, FEDSTRIP, or DLMS procedures. When used outside the DoD, they’re often called AACs.
