Luzzat-un-Nissa Begum, meaning “Delight Among Women,” was a Mughal princess and the youngest daughter of Emperor Jahangir and his wife Jagat Gosain. She was born on 23 September 1597 in Kashmir during her grandfather Akbar’s journey back to Lahore. Her mother was a Rathore princess, the daughter of Udai Singh Rathore. Luzzat-un-Nissa was the full sister of Shah Jahan (Prince Khurram) and had an older sister, Begum Sultan, who died in infancy. She died at about age five in Allahabad around 1603, during her father’s rebellion. She belonged to the Timurid dynasty.
