Bingo Morihashi (森橋 ビンゴ) is a Japanese novelist born on March 2, 1979, in Hiroshima. He studied at Osaka University of Arts and has been writing since 2002. He is best known for his work on the Devil May Cry video game series, its anime, and related light novels.

Morihashi published his first series, Tokyo Shimatsumou, in two volumes. While working on the second volume, Capcom hired him to help with Devil May Cry 2, mainly handling translations and the instruction manual. The project was stressful because the director Hideaki Itsuno overhauled it. After that, Itsuno started Devil May Cry 3, and Morihashi took on a larger role by writing the game’s scenario. Dante was given a new characterization since the original creator wasn’t involved, and Morihashi enjoyed writing Dante while also helping design Vergil.

Devil May Cry 3 was a commercial and critical success, and Itsuno then began Devil May Cry 4. Morihashi had trouble collaborating with the writers, and after finishing the scenario he left Capcom, though Itsuno asked him to return for one year. During that return, Morihashi helped create Nero, the game’s new main character, to keep players engaged.

After leaving Capcom, Morihashi teamed with Yasui Kentarou to write the two-volume novel Devil May Cry 4: Deadly Fortune (2009). In the afterword, he notes that some scenes meant for the game were cut for production reasons. Some ideas from those scenes later appeared in Devil May Cry 5, such as Nero inheriting the hunting job and Vergil appearing in Fortuna in an updated version of Devil May Cry 4.

Hideki Kamiya later invited Morihashi to help with Bayonetta 2 at PlatinumGames. For the 2019-2020 promotion of Devil May Cry 5, Morihashi wrote Devil May Cry 5 - Before the Nightmare -, a novel set before the events of the game.
