Lobaria anthraspis

Lobaria anthraspis is a leaf-like lichen in the family Peltigeraceae, part of the fungi kingdom. It belongs to the division Ascomycota and the order Peltigerales.

The species was first named Sticta anthraspis by Erik Acharius in 1803. In 1939, Adolf Hugo Magnusson moved it to the genus Pseudocyphellaria. Modern DNA studies led to further changes, and in 2014 Toby Spribille and Bruce McCune placed it in the genus Lobaria.

NatureServe lists Lobaria anthraspis as Apparently Secure in terms of conservation status.

Synonyms from past classifications include Anomalobaria anthraspis, Cyanisticta anthraspis, Lichen filix anthraspis, Pseudocyphellaria anthraspis, Sticta anthraspis, Stictina anthraspis, and Stictina faveolata anthraspis.
