Listeria fleischmannii is a species of bacteria in the Listeria genus. It is Gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic (can grow with or without oxygen), non-motile, and non-spore-forming. It is non-pathogenic and non-hemolytic (does not damage red blood cells). It was first isolated in 2006 in Switzerland from hard cheese. The name honors Wilhelm Fleischmann, a pioneer in dairy research. This species can be distinguished from other Listeria by its ability to ferment both D-mannitol and D-xylose. The name Listeria fleischmannii was described by Bertsch and colleagues in 2013.
