List of women artists in the Armory Show

This article lists women artists from the United States and Europe who showed work in the 1913 Armory Show, a landmark Modern Art exhibition in New York.

The Armory Show featured about 1,300 works by around 300 artists, and many of the women who exhibited have been overlooked over time. This list mainly uses the 1963 50th Anniversary Exhibition catalog, organized by the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, as its source.

The Armory Show was organized by the Association of American Painters and Sculptors and ran at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue between 25th and 26th Streets, from February 17 to March 15, 1913. It introduced New Yorkers, who were used to realistic art, to modern art and helped American artists become more independent and develop their own language.

The women listed here are those named in the 50th anniversary catalog as having exhibited in the 1913 Armory Show. They are also listed in The Story of the Armory Show. Of the fifty women named, thirty were invited, and twenty more were added after submitting works to a review committee. Many of these artists are discussed in detail in the 2014 book Women of the 1913 Armory Show: Their Contributions to the Development of American Modern Art.

The list of artworks shown at the Armory Show is drawn from The Armory Show at 100 (New York Historical Society) and from various catalogs describing the show. The following notes include works that appeared in the Armory Show for which color images are not available, but which can still help identify the pieces shown.
