List of the busiest airports in Europe
This article lists the 100 busiest airports in Europe, ranked by total annual passengers (including transfer passengers). Updates usually come in January or February with figures from the previous year. Data for each airport comes from official sources, typically the national aviation authority or the airport operator. The tables also show how total passengers changed from the year before. Rankings for every year since 2010 are included. The COVID-19 pandemic caused large drops in 2020 and 2021 compared with 2019.
As of 2024, among the top 100 airports, the country counts are:
- Italy: 13
- United Kingdom: 12
- France: 10
- Spain (excluding Canary Islands): 9
- Germany and the European part of Russia: 8
- Greece and Poland: 5
- Switzerland and Portugal: 3
- Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden: 2 each
