Frank Hammerschlag
Frank Hammerschlag (born 28 September 1960) is a German former football defender and later manager. He came through the Bayer 05 Uerdingen youth system and began his senior career with 1. FC Viersen (1980–1982), then moved to 1. FC Bocholt (1982–1983). In 1983 he joined MSV Duisburg, where he played 69 league games and scored 3 goals.
He later played for Tennis Borussia Berlin (1985–1986) with 22 appearances and 4 goals, and for SC Fortuna Köln (1986–1987) with 27 appearances. From 1988 to 1994 he played for Rheydter SV. In total, Hammerschlag made 118 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 7 goals for MSV Duisburg, Tennis Borussia Berlin and SC Fortuna Köln.
After stepping back from the professional game, he continued with Rheydter SV in amateur football, helping them become runners-up in the Oberliga in 1990 and reach the final of the German amateur championship. He then served as Rheydter SV’s manager from 1994 to 1996.
