Fabian Cancellara is a Swiss former professional cyclist known for his time-trial ability and his success in the classics. He won Paris–Roubaix three times, Tour of Flanders three times, and Milan–San Remo once. He also won the opening stage of the Tour de France five times and led the race for a total of 29 days, the most of any rider to never win the Tour. Cancellara claimed overall wins at Tirreno–Adriatico, the Tour de Suisse, and the Tour of Oman. In the Olympics, he won gold in the individual time trial in 2008 and 2016, and silver in the road race in 2008. He was a four-time world champion in the time trial.
