2002 Gambian parliamentary election

Parliamentary elections were held on 17 January 2002 to elect all 53 seats in the National Assembly (48 elected, 5 appointed). The ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) led by President Yahya Jammeh won a large majority.

- APRC won 45 seats (up 12). They ran unopposed in 33 of the 48 elected seats and took 12 of the 15 seats where there was opposition.
- PDOIS won 2 seats (Sidia Jatta).
- NRP won 1 seat (Hamat Bah).

Turnout was about 56% in the seats where voting occurred.

The Speaker before the election was Mustapha B. Wadda (APRC) and the Speaker after the election was Sheriff Mustapha Dibba (APRC).
