Lindenberg Nijmegen Culture House
Lindenberg Nijmegen Culture House, also called Lindenberg Cultuurhuis – Nijmegen, is a theatre and cultural venue in Nijmegen, Netherlands. It opened in 1972 as a project started by the Minister of Culture, Piet Engels, and is located at Ridderstraat 23, next to the Valkhof Museum. The centre runs theatre programs, performances, education courses, and a cafe, and it also hosts exhibitions about Nijmegen’s history.
The building is owned by ACBN Evenementenbureau Nijmegen and operated by director Teddy Vrijmoet (since 2018, after Ilse Verburgh left in 2017). The complex includes Valkhof Hall, a large space that can seat up to about 1,200 people for lectures, weddings, meetings, and workshops.
Lindenberg receives government subsidies as one of Nijmegen’s 30 cultural organizations. In 2000 it faced financial problems and cut some activities to stay financially stable. The venue offers courses such as DJing, urban dance, and comedy, and also provides individual music lessons. Website: www.delindenberg.com.
