Orlando Pirates F.C. 2020–21 season was the club’s 25th season in South Africa’s top flight. Led by chairman Irvin Khoza and manager Josef Zinnbauer, Pirates finished 3rd in the DStv Premiership, won the MTN 8, reached the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals, and were knocked out in the Nedbank Cup at the quarter-final stage.

They qualified for the 2021–22 CAF Confederation Cup after Kaizer Chiefs’ loss in the CAF Champions League final. In the CAF Confederation Cup, Pirates advanced past a walkover in the first round (Sagrada Esperança withdrew, giving Pirates a 4–0 aggregate win), then finished as runners-up in Group A, before being eliminated by Raja Casablanca in the quarter-finals (Raja went on to win the competition).

In the Nedbank Cup, Pirates were knocked out by Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals. In the MTN 8, they claimed the trophy, ending a near six-year trophy drought since their last major cup win in 2014.

Top scorers: Vincent Pule was the league top scorer with 6 goals and finished with 9 in all competitions. Season awards included a Player of the Season tie between Deon Hotto and Vincent Pule, a Fans’ Player of the Season tie, Vincent Pule as Golden Boot winner (9 goals in all comps), Boitumelo Radiopane as Prospect of the Season, Vincent Pule’s goal against Kaizer Chiefs as Goal of the Season, and a Last-Minute Save of the Season by Richard Ofori vs Bloemfontein Celtic.
