Lilit Stepanyan
Lilit Stepanyan (born 24 March 1981 in Hrazdan) is an Armenian politician and a current member of Parliament with the Civil Contract party. She studied International Relations at Yerevan State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2002 and a master’s degree in political science in 2004. She participated in programs run by the United Nations Development Programme and the United States Agency for International Development in Armenia. In 2002 she began working in public administration in Hrazdan’s Cadastre division. From 2007 to 2018 she held various positions in the Ministry of Education, becoming the director of the Kotayk branch of the National Institute of Education in 2017. She served as acting mayor of Hrazdan after the previous mayor resigned in June 2018 and was elected mayor in October 2018. While working as an assistant to MP Sasun Mikayelyan, she was invited to run as an independent candidate for Kotayk in the My Step Alliance and was elected to Parliament in December 2018. She was re-elected in 2021 for Civil Contract.
