Lewis Brinson
Lewis Brinson is an American former professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers, Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants, and in Japan for the Yomiuri Giants. He was born on May 8, 1994, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and he bats and throws right-handed.
Brinson was drafted in the first round in 2012 by the Texas Rangers. He rose through the minors and was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2016 as part of the Jonathan Lucroy deal. He made his MLB debut with Milwaukee in 2017, but struggled, hitting .106 with 2 home runs in 21 games.
In 2018 he was part of the package traded to the Miami Marlins for Christian Yelich. He played for Miami from 2018 to 2021, mostly with limited hitting success. After the 2021 season the Marlins designated him for assignment and he became a free agent.
In 2022 Brinson signed a minor league deal with the Houston Astros and was traded to the San Francisco Giants in September, appearing in 16 games. He then signed with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan for 2023, hitting .248 with 11 home runs in 88 games.
In 2024 Brinson played in the Mexican League for Olmecas de Tabasco and later for Rieleros de Aguascalientes, finishing the season on the reserve list and becoming a free agent.
