Leon County, Florida paleontological sites

Leon County, Florida, has several Early Miocene fossil sites. These sites preserve ancient invertebrates and vertebrates from the Torreya Formation. They date to the Arikareean faunal stage, about 23.1 to 21.9 million years ago, a span of roughly 1.2 million years.

Coordinates for the sites include: 30°33′56″N 84°12′58″W; 30°18′N 84°12′W; and 30°24′N 84°18′W.
