Landfolk
Landfolk is a Danish online marketplace for curated vacation rentals. It lists privately owned holiday homes, cottages, and villas across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
The company was founded on February 1, 2021, in Aarhus, Denmark, by seven former Airbnb colleagues: Christian Schwarz Lausten, Anders Boelskifte Mogensen, Chris Kjær Sørensen, Jonas Grau, Cathrine K. Reimann, Camilla Swartz Primdahl, and Lars Kloster Silkjær. They had previously co-founded Gaest.com, which they sold to Airbnb in 2019. By early 2022 Landfolk had more than 300 properties in Denmark.
In March 2022, Landfolk secured seed funding from Heartland to support international growth and launched in Norway and Germany later that year. In mid-2024, Landfolk raised €10.3 million in a Series A led by Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), with SEED Capital and Heartland participating. In October 2024, the company introduced Daisy, a visual search feature that uses natural language. In late 2024, Landfolk bought Danitalia, a vacation rental agency in Italy. By 2025, Landfolk operates in seven countries: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
Landfolk has earned recognition from the Danish Chamber of Commerce, winning Best New E-commerce in May 2024 and Best B2C company with online revenue under DKK 100 million in May 2025.
