Ramalingaswami Temple is a Hindu temple in Papanasam, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Legend says Rama prayed to Shiva here to atone for killing Kara and Dooshna in the war against Ravana, and he installed 108 shivalingas at this site. Rama made 107 of them, and Hanuman brought the remaining one from Varanasi. The temple faces west, which is unusual for temple architecture, and the shivalingas also face west. In the temple complex there are shrines to Nandi, Kamadhenu, Murugan with his consorts Valli and Deivayanai, Shanisvara, Annapoorni, and Kasi Visalakshi.
