2006 Long Beach, California, mayoral election
Long Beach, California held its mayoral election in 2006. The first round was on April 11, 2006. Bob Foster led with 48.5% of the vote (20,999), Frank Colonna had 28.5% (12,348), and Doug Drummond had 19.1% (8,271). Because no candidate won a majority, a runoff was held on June 6, 2006 between Foster and Colonna. In the runoff, Foster won with 57.0% of the vote (32,298) to Colonna's 42.9% (24,287). Foster became mayor, succeeding Beverly O’Neill. All candidates ran as nonpartisan.
