Kenya at the 2024 Summer Paralympics
Kenya competed at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, held from August 28 to September 8. The team consisted of 7 athletes across 4 sports. The flag bearers were Samwel Mushai Kimani and Asiya Sururu. Kenya won one medal, a silver, and finished 75th in the medal table.
Kenyan athletes qualified through several paths:
- Track and field athletes earned Paralympic spots based on results from the 2023 and 2024 World Championships or through high-performance allocations, as long as they met the minimum entry standards.
- Kenya entered one male para-cyclist after ranking among the top eligible nations in the 2022 UCI Nations ranking.
- Kenya qualified one boat in the women’s single sculls by winning the 2023 African Continental Qualification Regatta in Tunis.
- Two athletes, Neema Stency Obonyo and Julieta Lemunge Moipo, qualified for Paris 2024 through the 2024 African Qualification Tournament in Dakar.
