Diego Abella
Diego Abella Calleja (born 22 October 1998) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a forward for Jaguares. Born in Córdoba, Veracruz, he is 1.82 m tall. He came through the youth ranks at Santos Córdoba and Toluca before making his senior debut with Toluca (2018–2021). He spent time on loan at Puebla (2019–2020) and Necaxa (2021). He later played for Atlético Morelia (2021–2022) and Tepatitlán (2023–2024), joining Jaguares in 2024. In league play, he has featured for several clubs, including 41 appearances and 7 goals for Morelia, and 10 appearances and 3 goals for Tepatitlán. Internationally, Abella represented Mexico at the under-23 level, including the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, where the team won bronze.
