Keezhur
Keezhur is a village in the Iritty municipality of Kannur district in Kerala, India, near the town of Iritty. The Bavali river flows through Keezhur, where the Keezhur Mahadeva and Mahavishnu temples are located. The temple by the Bavali river is a popular place of worship, and the eight-day festival in Meenam and the Shivaratri festival are the main celebrations. Keezhur is a cultural center with a large local library and many readers. As of the 2011 census, Keezhur had a population of 16,597 (8,021 males and 8,576 females).
For transportation, Kannur town provides major links: the national highway connects to Mangalore and Mumbai to the north and to Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram to the south. East of Iritty, roads lead to Mysore and Bangalore. The nearest railway station is Kannur on the Mangalore–Palakkad line, and the closest airports are in Mangalore and Calicut (Kozhikode).
