Kachin Levies

The Kachin Levies were a British special force formed during World War II in Burma. They were made up of Kachin people under British officers and fought the Japanese in the northern Burmese jungle. The Levies were created at Fort Hertz by Edmund Leach and were first commanded by Colonel Gamble, a retired Australian Burma Military Police officer.
