Victoria Hamunyela
Victoria Hamunyela, full name Victoria Hashomwamona Hamunyela, is a Namibian cricketer born on 22 January 2003 in Okelemba, Ohangwena, Namibia. She bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off break, and she plays for the Namibia women’s national team.
She made her Women’s Twenty20 International debut on 20 August 2018 against Malawi, in Namibia’s first-ever WT20I match. By September 2024, she had played 56 WT20I games, scored 23 runs (top score 5 not out) and taken 52 wickets with best figures of 4/8, along with 9 catches.
Key moments in her career include being named in Namibia’s squad for the 2019 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier in Scotland and playing the opening match against Ireland on 31 August 2019. In May 2021, she was named in Namibia’s squad for the Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament in Rwanda, where she took 4/8 against Nigeria and was named Player of the Match. The Rwanda Cricket Association later selected her for its Team of the Tournament.
