Journey to the Urge Within is the debut jazz album by English saxophonist Courtney Pine. It was released by Verve in 1986. The main recording sessions took place July 21–23, 1986 at Angel Studios in Islington, London, with the track "Children of the Ghetto" recorded on August 27, 1986 at Power Plant Studios in Willesden, London.

The album lasts 43 minutes and 44 seconds. It was produced by Michael Cuscuna. Pine plays tenor saxophone and also bass clarinet and soprano, with Cleveland Watkiss on vocals, Orphy Robinson on vibraphone, and Julian Joseph on piano. Pine was 22 at the time.

AllMusic gave it 4 stars, noting it features promising young Black British jazz musicians. The album reached number 39 on the UK Albums Chart and earned a silver disc (over 250,000 copies sold), a milestone for British jazz at the time. All compositions are by Courtney Pine unless noted otherwise.
