Giovanni Vastarini-Cresi
Giovanni Vastarini-Cresi (1870–14 April 1924) was an Italian anatomist and professor at the Naples Anatomical Institute. He is known for his studies of the human tongue and its blood vessels, including arterio-venous connections in humans and other animals. Born in Taranto, he became a lecturer at the Naples Anatomical Institute, later serving as professor and, in 1919, as head of the institute. He taught and conducted research in histology and anatomy. His major work focused on arteriovenous anastomoses in the tongue, and he introduced glycogen-staining techniques.
