John Duffield
John Lincoln Duffield (born 1939) is a British financier who built one of London’s largest fund managers, Jupiter Fund Management. He went to Harrow School and studied biochemistry at the University of Oxford. After working in investment management and managing his wife’s estates, he moved to Switzerland as a tax exile. Duffield founded Jupiter Asset Management in 1985, which later became Jupiter Fund Management. After selling Jupiter Asset Management to Commerzbank, he started New Star Asset Management in 2001. He was married to Vivien Clore; they divorced in 1976, and they had a son and a daughter. He owns the Marcham Farms estate at Peasemore, Berkshire.
