John Dragonetti

John Dragonetti is an American musician, composer, and producer based in Los Angeles. Also known as Jack Drag and ToneTiger, he co-founded the indie band The Submarines with Blake Hazard.

Born in Jackson, Michigan, he spent part of his childhood in Egypt and Dubai before boarding school in Nicosia, Cyprus. He later studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Beginning in 1996, he recorded at home as Jack Drag, releasing music on Hep-Cat. He then signed with A&M Records and released Dope Box, followed by Aviating and The Sun Inside.

In 2006 he formed The Submarines, who issued three albums on Nettwerk Records. Their songs have appeared in films, TV, and ads, including Apple’s iPhone campaigns.

Dragonetti scored his first film, Surfwise, and has worked with director Brian Knappenberger on The Internet’s Own Boy and We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists. He has scored TV shows such as FX’s Married and AMC’s Small Town Security, and created music for commercials for Volkswagen, Lexus, and Coca-Cola.
