Pirbadet is Trondheim’s indoor water park and public pool in Norway. It opened on June 15, 2001, to replace the old Sentralbadet in downtown Trondheim. The facility sits at Havnegata 12 on the Brattøra pier and covers about 10,000 square meters, attracting around 400,000 visitors each year.

Pirbadet has eight pools, four water slides, a children’s area, two teaching pools, an outdoor pool, and four saunas. The standout feature is a 50-meter pool that hosted the Norwegian swimming championships in 2010 and 2017. As of 2025, most attractions remain the same as at opening, with a calm area and an extra slide added over the years.

Notable events include Cyclone Dagmar, which damaged the building façade in December 2011 (the interior was not harmed). In August 2017 the park closed for two weeks for maintenance on the 50-meter pool. On August 28, 2022, water leaked from the 50-meter pool into the basement, about half a meter deep; only the pool and hot tubs were affected, and the rest of the park stayed open. On March 15, 2023, a drowning occurred in Helsebad 2, a nearby section of the facility.

Getting there: Pirbadet is served by public transit, including AtB routes 21, 23, and 28, Trondheim S, and Trønderbanen, with cruise ships often docking nearby at Brattøra.
