Ruciane-Nida
Ruciane-Nida is a town in northeastern Poland, in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Pisz County. It is part of the Gmina Ruciane-Nida. The town was formed in 1966 by merging three settlements: Ruciane, Nida, and Wola Ratajowa. It lies in the Masuria region, a popular tourist area in the Masurian Lake District.
A main railway line, the D29-219, passes through the town, connecting Olsztyn, Szczytno, Świętajno, Pisz, and Ełk. In summer, Ruciane-Nida is the southernmost station of the Masurian Recreational Navigation system (lake cruises).
Ruciane-Nida covers about 17 square kilometers. Its population is around 4,900 people (about 4,894 in 2006). The postal codes are 12-220 and 12-221. The town uses Central European Time (UTC+1) and observes daylight saving (UTC+2). Website: www.ruciane-nida.pl.
