Chloralodol, also known as chlorhexadol, is a hypnotic and sedative. In the United States, it has been classified as a Schedule III controlled substance, reflecting its medical use and potential for dependence. However, it is no longer marketed or prescribed in the United States. Its chemical name is 2-methyl-4-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-hydroxyethoxy)pentan-2-ol.
