Jilly McCord
Jilly McCord, born Gillian McCord, is a Scottish former rugby player who played as a lock for Royal High Corstorphine RFC, Watsonians Ladies Rugby, and the Scotland women’s national team. She joined Scotland after a big weight loss in 2002, shedding about 11 stone (154 pounds) from her starting 25 stone to meet the pace needed for international rugby. She became Scotland captain in 2007, taking over from Donna Kennedy; her first match as captain was against Canada and by that time she had 28 caps. She played in the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup. In 2019 she finished as a runner-up on MasterChef. McCord lived in Inverkeithing, Fife before moving to Cramond, Edinburgh with her partner Kimberley Fergus and their two dachshunds. She works as a history teacher at Dollar Academy in Dollar, Clackmannanshire.
