Matthew Brouillette
Matthew J. Brouillette is an American businessman and the founder and president of Commonwealth Partners Chamber of Entrepreneurs, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based organization. He previously served as president and CEO of the Commonwealth Foundation for Public Policy Alternatives, a free‑market think tank in Pennsylvania, from 2002 to 2016.
Born in Iowa City on September 20, 1969, Brouillette spent seven years teaching history and coaching sports at the middle and high school levels before moving into policy work. He is married with four children. He earned a BA in US history and education from Cornell College, an MEd from Azusa Pacific University, and an MA in history from the University of San Diego, and he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration at Walden University.
Brouillette joined the Commonwealth Foundation in 2002 after four years with the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. He has been recognized as a top Republican influencer by Politics Magazine (2010) and was listed in The Pennsylvania Report 100 (2009) for his impact on Pennsylvania politics. He serves on the boards of the REACH Foundation and the Joshua Group and has held various advisory roles with several universities and education and policy organizations.
