Jesmond is a small ranching community in the South Cariboo area of British Columbia, Canada. It sits west of the town of Clinton, along the road from Kelly Lake (on the Pavilion–Clinton Road) to Big Bar Creek and Big Bar Ferry. The community once had a post office, opened in 1913. The postmaster named it after his father’s birthplace in the United Kingdom, and the post office operated until 1960. In Jesmond, the Echo Valley complex includes the Baan Thai Pavilion, the first traditional Thai building designed to withstand the area’s colder climate. The Pavilion was designed by Pinyo Suwankiri, a Thai National Artist in architecture.
