AC-90179
AC-90179 is a chemical compound in the piperidine family. It acts on serotonin receptors in the brain: it is an inverse agonist at the 5-HT2A receptor and an antagonist at the 5-HT2C receptor. It was studied as a potential antipsychotic but was not developed for medical use because it has poor oral bioavailability, meaning it is not well absorbed when taken by mouth. Despite this, AC-90179 is still used as a research tool to study serotonin receptors and pharmacology.
