William McCaw "Red" Ballantyne (15 November 1901 – 7 August 1944) was a Scottish footballer who played as an inside right. He was born in Possilpark, Scotland, and spent his career in Scotland, the United States, and Canada.

He started with Shettleston, then played for Clyde, with a stint in Boston in 1924. After returning to Clyde, he moved to the United States to join the New Bedford Whalers. In the late 1920s, during the turmoil known as the soccer wars between the ASL and the USFA, Ballantyne joined the New York Giants in the Eastern Soccer League by December 1928 and stayed with the Giants when the leagues merged in 1930. He later played for the Brooklyn Wanderers, New York Americans, Montréal Carsteel, and the Kearny Scots-Americans in the second ASL after 1933. He served as a player-manager for the Newark Germans in 1935.

In 1938 he moved to Montreal, where he managed Glen Yards F.C. and Carsteel F.C. Ballantyne died in 1944 in a convalescent hospital in Lachine, Montreal, after a ten-month illness.

His elder brother Johnny and younger brother Bobby were also footballers who played in Scotland and the United States.
