James Odongo (27 March 1931 – 4 December 2020) was a Ugandan Catholic church leader who led the Tororo diocese and later its archdiocese. He was born in Molo, Tororo District, and was ordained a priest on 22 December 1956. He became Auxiliary Bishop of Tororo in 1964 and was consecrated as bishop in 1965. He was named Bishop of Tororo in 1968. In 1985, he was also made head of Uganda’s Military Ordinariate. On 2 January 1999, he became the first Archbishop of the newly created Archdiocese of Tororo, serving until his retirement on 27 June 2007, after which he was Archbishop Emeritus. He passed away on 4 December 2020 at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya in Kampala, aged 89. His twin brother, Father Alfred Opio, had died before him.
