James M. Brailsford Jr.

James M. Brailsford Jr. (July 3, 1910 – November 8, 1993) was an associate justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court. He served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1939 to 1942, and then as a state trial judge from 1947 to 1962. In 1962, he was elected to the state Supreme Court and served until his retirement in 1974. Brailsford was born in South Carolina and attended the University of South Carolina. He was married to Louise Tompkins. He was preceded on the Supreme Court by George Dewey Oxner and succeeded by George Gregory Jr. Brailsford died on November 8, 1993, at age 83.
