Irynachet
Irynachet (circa 2200 BCE) was an ancient Egyptian physician who lived at the end of the Old Kingdom or the start of the First Intermediate Period. He is known from a false door found at Giza, later reused as the cover of a shaft tomb (excavation no. S 2065). The door lists rare titles: senior physician of the royal household, physician of the belly of the royal household, protector of the anus, and physician of the eyes of the royal household. These titles show a high level of medical specialization already in the Old Kingdom. He was also called Iry, a shortened form of his name, and his full name was Ny-ankh-Pepy.
