Shiyui
Shiyui (シユイ) is a Japanese pop singer signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan. She was born on October 21 and started posting cover songs online in January 2021, inspired by Vocaloid and anime music. Her stage name comes from a Buddhist statue in Kyoto called Gokōshiyui Amidabutsu. While studying art, she began posting covers as an utaite when her university moved online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, Shiyui worked with Jon-Yakitory on the song Oni and released her first EP in July through Incs Toenter. On November 9, 2022, she made her major-label debut with the single Kimiyo Kedakakuare, the ending theme for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. The song reached No. 19 on the Oricon Singles Chart and No. 12 on the Oricon Digital Singles Chart.
In 2023 she performed Happiness of the Dead, the theme song for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, which was released digitally in July and on CD in August. She also sang Glow, the theme song for Puella Magi Madoka Magica Scene 0 in Magia Record.
Shiyui released her debut album Be Noble on May 22, 2024. Critics noted its free-spirited style and how her voice inspires other creators. She put out two more singles in 2024: Love Call, the opening theme for Undead Unluck, and Hollow, the opening theme for Demon Lord 2099. In 2025 she released Overlap, the ending theme for Blue Exorcist season 4. Besides singing, Shiyui is an illustrator and has made artwork for several of her music videos.
