Ipecac Recordings is a U.S. independent record label started in 1999 by Greg Werckman and Mike Patton. It was created so Patton’s band Fantômas could release their debut with full creative control, and it also gave a home to Patton’s friends the Melvins. The label releases rock and experimental music and also puts out DVDs, books, soundtracks, and comedy projects. Ipecac has distributed work by artists like Isis and Dälek, as well as many of Patton’s collaborations. In addition to new releases, Ipecac re-releases older or imported recordings and has issued vinyl editions of Queens of the Stone Age albums. The label is based in Orinda, California, distributed by Southern Records, and its website is ipecac.com.
