Inwood Country Club is a private golf, tennis, and beach club in Inwood, New York, near Jamaica Bay and southeast of John F. Kennedy International Airport. It began as a nine-hole course in 1901 and was expanded to 18 holes in 1906, making it one of Long Island’s oldest courses. The course was partly redesigned by Herbert Strong before it hosted major championships.

The front nine has a unique layout with three straight par-5 holes followed by two consecutive par-3 holes. The course is Par 71 and about 6,647 yards long.

Inwood hosted two early major championships. The PGA Championship in 1921 was won by Walter Hagen, the first of his five PGA titles. The U.S. Open in 1923 was won by amateur Bobby Jones.

The club also operates a private beach club in Atlantic Beach, a short distance away. A famous moment came in the 1923 Open when Jones, facing a tight finish, delivered a brilliant shot on the 18th hole to secure the win.
