Ian Billcliff
Ian Shaw Billcliff, born 26 October 1972 in Williams Lake, Canada, is a former Canadian cricketer who grew up in New Zealand. A right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace, he played domestic cricket in New Zealand for Otago, Wellington and Auckland in the 1990s, and later played club cricket in England. He later linked up with Canadian cricket through ICC development programs and helped Canada reach the 2001 World Cup after finishing third in the ICC Trophy, with notable World Cup scores of 42 against Bangladesh and 71 against Kenya.
Billcliff represented Canada in ODIs from 2003 to 2009 (debuting on 11 February 2003 against Bangladesh) and in T20Is in 2010 (debuting on 9 February 2010 against the Netherlands). His last ODI was on 19 April 2009 against Ireland, and his last T20I was on 16 November 2010 against Kenya. In total, he played 19 ODIs and 2 T20Is, scoring 529 and 51 runs respectively. He captained Canada in the 2004 ICC Intercontinental Cup and played in the ICC Americas Championships in 2004 and 2006, as well as the 2005 ICC Trophy.
After his international career, he continued playing club cricket in Auckland for Cornwall, and later for the University/Ellerslie club. He is the brother of Mark Billcliff.
